It's customers like Rey that keep us doing what we do. Rey shared some kind words and photos of his GuitarGrip hanger collection displaying some of his prized guitars and other art. Take it away Rey!
It started with one. One pair, actually. One pair of helping hands. I had been looking for something that would emphatically bring my personal and work goals together into one daily workflow. The best motivators will often suggest that laying out our gear the night before a big day can be transformational when it comes to success.
I’ve had at least one guitar in my life since about 1993 and sometime around 2017 or 2018 I found what I believe to be one of the most amazing pieces of guitar related gear that any aspiring guitarist or fan of guitars might ever come across. That gear was a pair of left and right Classic Black Finish Grip Guitar Hangers by GuitarGrip.
Moving my guitars from a storage case in a closet and from a floor stand in a random room to a “front and center” position right alongside my computer got me into finally pairing my “off the wall” musical style with a streamlined recording process that significantly reduced the time and effort it previously took to bring my ideas to life.
Before I knew it, I wanted to put another “vision board” together that focused on my primary passions. It didn’t take me very long to find my second pair of helping “Hands of The Mummy” GuitarGrip Monster Wall Hangers. By chance, someone happened to have a matching Etsy project for sale. A mummy’s head and torso!
So many things have happened between my first pair of GuitarGrip wall mounts and now. How many GuitarGrip products do I have now? I just did a walk through and I counted 48 GuitarGrips in quite a few formats. I’ve got Classic, Monster, Valkyrie, Bella, Tiki Man and Tree Branch Grips and they are all in use in a variety of ways!
As with guitars and the amazing variety of guitar music, there are probably countless ways to use GuitarGrip wall hangers aside from having them hold guitars. We had so much fun seeing our rooms come together with playable art that we also branched out and came up with a few unconventional ways to use even more GuitarGrips!
Who doesn’t have a few skeletons in their closet, right? After finding these, I was inspired to have a skeleton themed closet where I have four previously retired Skeleton style wall mounts lending their helping hands to the skeleton themed guitars in my closet. It took years to find these retired GuitarGrips at an online auction site.
GuitarGrip’s products have continued to evolve over time. Some grips have been retired and others have been revised now and then. All the while each version has seemingly been made just for me and the countless others just like me who have always wanted a clever way to put their playable pieces of art on display.
I currently use one of the original style GuitarGrip Tiki Man Ukulele Hangers for holding a camera tripod in my main demo room. As with the ukulele and various guitars that most of my GuitarGrips hold, my “Tripod Tiki” provides an essential hand that allows me to immediately pick up my gear so I can get to work making music!
At some point many a guitarist has probably said “You can never have too many guitars” and at the same time, it can be very difficult to find the space to have very many guitars if the only storage space used is a closet, a floor stand or a guitar case (usually stored in a closet). GuitarGrip has beautifully transformed our house!
I feel like I’ve finally “gotten a grip”. I tend to grab a guitar almost daily now. If I had not found GuitarGrip I would not have built the workflow that I have now. Looking forward I’d love to see a horizontal mount option, or even a corner mount option. It would also be great to one day have an “eco” option made of repurposed materials.
